Pattern Design

"I am a passionate and creative designer with an academic background in Fashion Design and Textiles, complemented by extensive experience in illustration and graphic design. My interdisciplinary expertise allows me to seamlessly integrate various design aspects, giving me a unique perspective that enhances my ability to create innovative fashion and textile patterns.

Pattern design is more than decoration—it is a powerful medium for conveying emotions and narratives, adding depth and personality to fashion.”

I am pleased to present a selection of my pattern designs, showcasing their application in fashion and highlighting their impact on garments. These patterns represent a fusion of diverse fabric designs and techniques, reflecting my expertise in both textile design and craftsmanship.
My portfolio encompasses a wide array of styles, ranging from futuristic and tech-inspired motifs to those rooted in natural elements. I have explored both intricate and abstract designs, demonstrating versatility and innovation in my approach.
Through these designs, I aim to bridge the gap between art and utility, creating pieces that not only captivate visually but also resonate with the wearer. By integrating different styles and techniques, I strive to push the boundaries of traditional pattern design, offering unique solutions that cater to diverse tastes and needs.

This page shows 7 pattern projects in different styles

1.
Digital Synopticon

In one of my most recent projects, I utilized double-layered lenticular materials to create dynamic, moving prints. This approach integrates 3D modeling as the core of the designs, aligning with the project’s near-future digital theme. The use of lenticular materials allows for visual effects that change with the viewer's perspective, providing an interactive and engaging experience.

This project illustrates my ability to merge cutting-edge technology with traditional design principles, exploring the intersection of technology and fashion. By incorporating advanced materials and digital tools, I am able to push the boundaries of conventional pattern design and offer innovative solutions that cater to diverse tastes and needs.

2.
Fu-na-ture

In this project, I experimented with animal-inspired prints to emphasize a wild and primal aesthetic. These designs capture the untamed essence of nature, adding a raw and organic feel to the collection.

3.
Exposure of Virgin

The prints in this project are a combination of two different techniques. One is purely hand-drawn, featuring detailed, figurative elements that correspond to a feminine theme. The other consists of digitally created abstract patterns.
Both types of prints work beautifully on velvet fabric, providing a luxurious sheen and texture.

4.
ink strokes

This project is a practice exercise based on patterns found in traditional Chinese calligraphy and the deconstruction of Chinese character forms.
It utilizes colours and textures reminiscent of Chinese ink painting, yet incorporates a modern sensibility. The result is a blend of traditional aesthetics and contemporary design elements.

5.
"I HEAR MY GHOST WHISPER TO ME."

This project is a simulated commercial fashion endeavour inspired by women's personal growth. It uses natural elements of daffodils and circular polka dots as design motifs.
The colour palette incorporates that year's trending colours, combined with classic black and white, to better target the intended audience. The prints are applied to silk fabric, providing a luxurious sheen and sophisticated finish.

6.
見蕩れる

This is a surrealist-inspired print project, conceived at the end of 2021. The term "荡漾" in Japanese is written as "見蕩れる," which means to be fascinated by or attracted to someone. However, a direct translation into English would be "jealous of you." On the internet, it has evolved into a coined term used to describe a charming and sophisticated woman.

This concept conveys a sense of aloofness combined with intense desire. I express this feeling through the use of red, cyan, deep blue, and light grey. Orchids play a significant role in this project, symbolizing strong feminine qualities.

7.
COMIC PATTERN

These are patterns I designed specifically for online virtual characters. Each pattern is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, combining vibrant colors and unique motifs to bring the characters to life. The designs are intended to enhance the visual appeal of the characters and reflect their distinct personalities and roles within the virtual world. By integrating elements of fashion and art, these patterns contribute to a rich and immersive digital experience.
